NGC2024, also known as Flame nebula, and IC434 are part of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex, which is estimated to lie at a distance of 1500~1600 l.y. from Earth.
Part of the dark nebula LDN 1630 extends over the bright IC434 creating one of the most pictured dark nebulae, the Horse Head nebula, listed in Barnard's Catalog as B33.

I've reprocessed my old image of 2015, taken with the EOS 600D, and added 5 additional hours with L filter to increase details. It has been also a verification of the improvements brought by the new focuser.
