NGC7000 and IC5070, aka North America and Pelican nebulae, are part of a wide HII emitting region called W80/DR27 in Cygnus constellation. The two bright nebulae are separated by a dark dust band named LDN 935, which belongs to the same molecular complex.
Distance from Earth is estimated to be 1960 l.y.
