Sh2-173 is an emission nebula laying in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It's an HII region with a diameter of 77 l.y. located around 8800 l.y. from the Earth, in the Perseus arm of our galaxy, in corrispondence of the Caasiopeia association OB5, which includes open clusters an other nebulae like Sh2-172 and Sh2-177. It contains several young stars, resposible of the ionization of the region. [Wiki] |
